Liu-an Heicha 1999
A beautifully aged 1999 Liu-an Heicha from the misty mountains of Anhui, this tea has matured gracefully over decades in traditional bamboo baskets. The result is a smooth, refined cup with deep character. Earthy yet clean, with layers that unfold slowly over multiple steeps. Time has softened its edges, leaving behind a rich, balanced tea that feels both grounding and quietly complex.
Flavor: Warm notes of aged wood, toasted grain, and bamboo lead the way, followed by hints of dried fruit, cocoa husk, and a gentle herbal sweetness. Subtle touches of camphor and old forest linger in the finish, with a returning sweetness that coats the palate and evolves sip after sip.
Mood & Feeling: Grounding, warming, and meditative. This is a tea for slowing down. Calming the body while gently focusing the mind. Its energy is steady and comforting, like sitting in a quiet, wood-lined room on a cool day.
Steep Time: Use 5–7g per 100–120ml of water at 200–212°F. Rinse quickly once or twice, then steep for 10–15 seconds to start, increasing time gradually with each infusion. Can be re-steeped many times and also holds up well to longer, more casual brewing.
